Designer label Orla Kiely makes high fashion clothing and accessories. Solar Initiative developed the concept and the design of their brand identity, external communication, and seasonal catalogues, under the name 'Orla Kiely World', an imaginary world in which the Orla Kiely products distinguish themselves by showing the key values of the overall collection: the colourful graphic prints and the relative simplicity of the designs. The site incorporates an online web shop, an interactive experience world, company information, a store locator and the collections.
Orla Kiely's philosophy is that good design is not over designed and functionality is king. It was that philosophy that led to the creation of her first range of signature stem print handbags. Launched in the 1990's, when fashion was black and conceptual, the freshness she achieved through her use of colour and pattern in that collection created an instant appeal. Over the following decade that small, considered, bag collection has grown to include a complete ready-to -wear women's wear line, accessories, travel and home.
